The paper presents the principal scientific achievements of academician V. Sobolev during the Lviv period of life (1945–1958). General scheme of the Carpathians Alpine magmatism evolution is given. Three phases of magmatism have been distinguished: ultrabasic, basic (Mesozoic), medium-acid (Cainozoic) and alkaline basaltoid (Pliocene–Pleistocene). On the basis of petrochemical features it was possible to determine types, differentiation degree of magmas, position of the source and corresponding geodynamic situation: passive rifting – collision – post collision – “hot points” in the continent.

E-mail: mineral@ franko.lviv.ua

A new locality for the Ba-rich trioctahedral micas, kinoshitalite and ferrokinoshitalite, has been found in Zavallya graphite deposit. Kinoshitalite associates with enstatite and dolomite in enstatite skarns while ferrokinoshitalite – with ferrosilite and calcite in quartz-pyroxene rock in proximal zone of magnesian skarn. Phlogopite forms at retro-grade stage in association with clinochlore, calcite, quartz, magnetite, pyrrhotite and graphite. Ba-rich micas with respect to phlogopite are characterized by lower contents of MnO, K2O with no impurity of Na2O, TiO2, CoO and NiO. The main substitution mechanism in kinoshitalite is AK+ + IVSi4+ < (ABa2+, ÀÑa2+) + IVAl3+. Skarn formation may be divided into three stages: formation of diopside skarn in contact with enderbite and dolomite; formation of enstatite skarn connecting with the process of charnokitization and ductile deformation zones. Ba-rich micas have been formed exactly during second stage of skarn formation. At the third stage (retrograde stage) Ba-rich micas was depleted on Ba2+. Then Ba2+ precipitated from solutions in upper horizons in form of romanechite and gorceixite.

Key words: Ba-micas, kinoshitalite, ferrokinoshitalite, phlogopite, magnesian skarn, calcsilicate, Zavallya graphite deposit, Ukraine.

Study of accessory minerals of Voznesens’kyi, Bobrynets’kyi, Kirovohrads’kyi and other granite massifs of kirovohrads’ky complex in the central part of the Ukrainian Shield have been executed. Accessory minerals which constantly happen and are the most informing in a genetic aspect are more detailed in all explored. Generation analysis of accessory minerals, foremost to zircon, and the detailed study of internal structure of his difficult crystals enable to describe the features of petrogenetic process. The design of zircon crystals forming process on the basis of their internal structure helped to find out ran across the process of
crystallization and confirmed the polyultrametamorphic process of their formation. Ultrametamorphism is the process of accumulation of rare-earth and rare-metal mineralization at the final stages. At the same time in geochemical specialization this process is not identified. Accordingly, mineralogenetic specialization of granitoids can be find out most expressly during the analysis of accessory minerals which contain information about sequence and concentration of rare-earth and rare-metal miner-alization.

APPLICATION OF SECONDARY KIMBERLITE MINERALS FOR DEFINITION OF DIATREMES’ EROSIVE CUT

Myk. Zinchuk

Western-Yakutian Scientific Centre of the Academy
of Sciences of Republic Sakha (Yakutia), Myrnyi

Results of complex research of secondary kimberlite minerals in connection with possi-bility of their application for specifying the size of an erosive cut of kimberlite pipes are given, which is recommended to use in combination with geologic-structural investigations concerning this question. The small erosive cut of diatremes (pipes Aykhal, Yubileynaya, Sytykanskaya and others in Daldyn-Alakit region of the Siberian platform) is emphasized by availability of layered kimberlite tuffs of sedimentary-volcanogenic origin in upper parts of the finds. The presence of thick weathering profiles at the top levels of volcanic pipes can also point to weak erosive cut of kimberlites. Practically complete disappearance of amethyst-like quartz druses in such pipes at the depth of several tens of meters from the surface can also be interpreted as the proof of their development in the tops of poorly eroded kimberlite bodies. In that case frequent finds of quartz and chalcedony druses and other new formations in kimberlites of the pipes’ upper levels as well can also be considered indi-rect evidence of weak erosive character of the pipes, which should be taken into account when forecasting diamond placers in this region.

USE OF MICACEOUS FORMATIONS DURING FORECASTING-PROSPECTING WORKS ON DIAMONDS

Myk. Zinchuk, M. Zinchuk

Western-Yakutian Scientific Centre of the Academy
of Sciences of Republic Sakha (Yakutia), Myrnyi

Results of complex investigation of crusts of weathering on various rocks in diamondi-ferous regions of the Siberian platform are given and their concentration in productive Up-per Palaeozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary terrains of the same territory is determined. Special attention is paid to micaceous formations, for which their typomorphic features in eluvium in various by mineralogical and petrographic composition rocks are established. Comparative analysis of reviewed during work crusts of weathering indicates that together with mineralogical features of source rocks and hydrogeochemical conditions of environ-ment three following factors have great significance in forming eluvial products. The first is the degree of structural order of primary minerals. The second is connected with inheritance of these properties by newly arising phases. And the third includes universality of the proc-ess of transforming hypogene and formation of hypergene minerals in the profiles of weath-ering developed on various types of rocks. Thus successful use of these formulated com-plementary provisions for objective revelation of regularities of zonal structure of crusts of weathering can be based only on their complex optical-electronic-microscopic and struc-tural-crystallochemical investigation. The established typomorphic features of micaceous rocks, typical of hypergenely altered micaceous rocks, can be successfully employed during forecasting-prospecting works on diamonds, in particular for refinement of ablation sources of local material during palaeogeographic reconstructions of various terrains of Upper Palaeozoic and Mesozoic ages.
Key words: crust of weathering, mica, typomorphic features, hypergenesis, daimond-bearing territories, Upper Palaeozoic, Mesozoic, Siberian platform.

The zone structure of vein is deciphered with the help of electrochemical ions behav-iour in the mineral forming solutions of vein bodies in which fluorite is located in the outlying parts of veins, and barite is placed in the central zones. It is proved, that precipi-tation of fluorite and barite occurred owing to anode–cathode interaction between vein body and wall rocks, and ions movement of the mineral forming solutions was controlled by the cations and anions oxidation-reduction potentials values.

The forms of chemical elements in sea water depending on the structure of their elec-tronic shells (position in the Periodic system) have been analysed. It is found out, that alkaline and alkalihe-earth elements, except for to the beryllium, valency of which is +1, +2, are in sea water (and in other natural waters) in the form of simple ions. Their potentials of ionization do not exceed 28 eV, and ionic potential – less than 2,7. Other chemical elements, valency of which is +3 and more high, and the total values of potentials of ionization and ionic potential are high, form complex anions. Inert gases, having the completed structure of external electronic shell, are in natural terms in the form of neutral atoms.
